Vilabela: The Masterpiece in Progress
About Vilabela
Vilabela is not just a property in the Douro. It is a life project and an emotional territory, located at the confluence of the Balsemão and Varosa rivers.
Its foundation is based on a legacy that unites care, wine, and art. It is where Artur Borges’s vision found the terroir of excellence, resulting in a property that reflects his deep passion for purity and harmony. Here resides a triangular ethic applied to the land: the dedication of the producer, the vision of the artist, and the rigor of cultivation.
"A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine."
Louis Pasteur
The Curated Terroir
Located in Baixo Corgo, in the historic area of Lamego, Vilabela benefits from an excellent microclimate, with east-facing slopes and schist and granite soils that create a rare terroir. This is the foundation of freshness, minerality, and complexity that defines everything born here.
At Vilabela, cultivation is selective. The vineyards are treated with the precision and observation of those who know that nature, when respected, is the greatest masterpiece. The harvest is done by hand, with the manual rigor required for something truly exclusive.
An Evolving Legacy
The wine, born from this unique soil, is the first and purest manifestation of this ever-evolving vision. It invites us to share authenticity and reunion, grounded in the dedication that only a true masterpiece deserves.
Vilabela is our home, our manifesto. It is the place where we say:
“Welcome To My World!”.
